A mural honouring England footballer Marcus Rashford has been vandalised less than an hour after the national team’s loss in the Euro.
Graffiti has been scrawled across the artwork, in Withington, which depicts the much-loved Manchester United striker.
The indecipherable lettering, daubed in blue paint on Sunday night, can barely be seen over the powerful black and white image.

Hundreds also took part in a Stand Up to Racism rally by the artwork on Copson Street, which is near where Rashford grew up and went to school.
