Manchester United hero Dwight Yorke believes Steve McClaren will want to restore a winning culture to the club.
The 61-year-old has been brought in by Erik ten Hag to reprise his assistant manager role at the club, after spending two years between 1999 and 2001 as Sir Alex Ferguson’s right-hand man. McClaren had the new United boss as his assistant as FC Twente.
He has already been seen helping to instil Ten Hag’s philosophies during pre-season training. Meanwhile, Yorke is gearing up for his first job in management in Australia, which is where the United squad currently are, as their summer tour continues.

They overcame Melbourne Victory on Friday ahead of friendlies against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace next week. New Macarthur FC boss Yorke is currently planning for the new A-League season which begins in October.
The former striker worked with McClaren during his first United stint and explained how one objective he will be determined to achieve is restoring a winning culture at the club, which was absent during last season's woes. “Steve has the knowledge of Manchester United,” he told club media, agreeing that his appointment was a clever one.
“I've spent some time there recently and Steve will want to get the culture back - we know things were not quite where they used to be, largely because the results on the pitch did not help matters. Hopefully, with Steve's experience and Erik's new ideas and philosophy, they can get the team back to where they belong."
