A man slashed a trained martial artist with a knife and threatened to 'cut' his dog before running through a river to escape police, a court has heard.
Reddish man Paul Norton told Stockport's Nightingale crown court on Tuesday (June 1) that he heard his Manchester terrier squeal before he found Christopher Anthony Howe holding it by its neck.
Mr Howe, 33, is accused of then wounding Mr Norton's arm and face with a knife
