An area of Bury woodland became a crime scene today, after a man in his 50s was reportedly stabbed with ‘scissors’.
Police were seen on Tennyson Avenue, on the Goshen Estate, for much of Saturday (February 12) afternoon.
Shortly before 11am, a man appeared at an off-licence covered in blood, shocked workers told the Manchester Evening News.

“He said someone had stabbed him with scissors,” the shop worker said.
“He asked me to get him a taxi but I called him an ambulance. He had blood from his head down to his feet.”
It’s thought the man was attacked in woodland near to Tennyson Avenue, before making his way to the store to seek help.
Earlier this evening, Greater Manchester Police confirmed a man had been assaulted and was taken to hospital, with non-serious injuries.
Community leaders and residents in the area have spoken of their shock in discovering the crime scene.
"On behalf of local residents, it’s distressing to hear of the incident that occurred this morning,” Coun Tariq Tamoor said.
"Our understanding is that this is an isolated incident and the police are on with their enquiries and a full investigation.
"We will be taking steps in the coming week to reach out to Six Town Housing and local residents to see what we can do to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
"This is one in a series of incidents that has taken place of late."
One resident woman said she was 'shocked' to see the crime scene this morning. "I wondered what had gone on," she said. "It's not often something like this happens around here."
