A man has been left fighting for his life after being attacked in Bolton.
Police were called to a road in Great Lever on Sunday lunchtime (May 8) after a man in his 50s was assaulted. He suffered serious injuries, a GMP spokesperson confirmed.
The man was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition, they added. It is thought the man was found at the junction between Westbourne Avenue and Bramhall Street in Great Lever.

Now, police are investigating the incident and urging any witnesses to come forward. A GMP statement said: “At around 1.29pm on Sunday 8 May police were called to a report of an assault near the junction of Westbourne Avenue and Bramhall Street, Great Lever, Bolton.
“Officers attended and a man in his 50s was located with serious injuries. He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed this incident is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 1709 of the 8th May 2022.”
