Man fined £160 for being in the 'wrong car' on a family day out

A man was left furious after being fined £160 for driving the 'wrong car' on a family trip.
He's now refusing to pay the fine because he says it was a 'silly mistake'.
Scott Corben has slammed Premier Parking Solutions (PPS) after they added a further £100 to his fine after he chose not to pay the original penalty.
However, PPS has accused Scott of "seeking preferential treatment over other motorists".

The Devon dad incurred the original fine in October after taking his daughters to a show at Plymouth's Theatre Royal and then parking outside the venue.
But the family's evening out became slightly more expensive than first anticipated when Scott accidentally paid for the wrong car when using the parking payment app RingGo.
At the time a spokesperson for RingGo explained that it does offer a "grace period" for drivers to correct their registration data after they’ve paid to park if they need to.
But if the wrong details are entered and the driver doesn’t correct them, they are liable to receive a parking penalty charge notice (PCN).
Although Scott used RingGo to pay for parking, the company isn't actually responsible for the penalty notice and instead that responsibility lies with the parking authority in the area.
In Scott's case the parking outside the Theatre Royal Plymouth is monitored by Premier Parking Solutions, based in Newton Abbot, reports Plymouth Live.
At the time of his first fine the company said: "The error appears solely to be with the motorist who has authorised the incorrect vehicle to park.
"It is not at all controversial to ask that the correct vehicle is authorised properly to park.”
