A man facing a £2,000 fine and a date in court for travelling to the Lake District for a walk during lockdown is demanding it be dropped.
Daniel Marshall, 28, and a friend were pulled over by an unmarked police car as they arrived at Scafell Pike for a Sunday morning hike last January.
The pair, who had travelled to Cumbria from Stockport, were initially handed £200 fines for breaching lockdown restrictions and told to return home.
Daniel says he appealed the fine - but claims he then didn't hear anything back until August when he says he received a letter from Cumbria High Court stating that the fine had been increased to £2,021.
He says he then received a summons to magistrates court for a trial for a breach of coronavirus restrictions in March of this year.

At the time, a tier system was in place across the UK.
Greater Manchester fell under Tier 4, which meant people could exercise with one person from outside their household but were not allowed to travel outside their local area to do so.
However, Daniel says he believed he was following government guidelines at the time and has been left 'angered' by the news of parties taking place at Downing Street during lockdown.
Daniel described the parties - one of which Prime Minister Boris Johnson admitted attending in May 2020 - as 'a massive kick in the teeth' but said he was 'not surprised' by them.
"It's completely double standards," he said. "As far as I'm aware, no one has been treated the way I am.
"If I was in my work van then I probably could have said it was a work meeting.
"I want everything to be dropped and I want an apology."
