Pep Guardiola insists nothing has changed in the Premier League title race despite Liverpool dropping points against Tottenham on Saturday
Guardiola has been clear that City's objective is to take maximum points from all their remaining games in the Premier League, knowing that such a run would guarantee the title. After Liverpool's draw against Spurs, though, if City beat Newcastle they would open up a three-point lead at the top of the table with three games remaining and a minimum of equal goal difference.
That would allow City to have some leeway in those three games, but Guardiola was clear that Liverpool's result won't change his message to his players.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Guardiola said: "Winning or losing or drawing Liverpool, nothing changes in the fact we have to win our games. If Liverpool won yesterday, the situation today, nothing changes."
Guardiola made four changes from the gutting defeat against Real Madrid this week, with one enforced as Kyle Walker missed out completely with injury. In came Aleks Zinchenko, Ilkay Gundogan, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling as Guardiola opted to freshen up his side after 120 minutes in Madrid.
The manager was asked about the mood in his squad ahead of the Newcastle game following the shock of midweek, and he backed his side to respond well.
"[They are] much better than yesterday by far," he said.
"And yesterday much better than day before. It's normal, it's not forgotten because it's football, it's life. We did many good things. It happened."
