A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a "gentle giant" Scots dad, who was found injured in the street.
Liam Maloney, 30, was discovered with alleged serious injuries on Niddrie Marischal Road in the south-east of Edinburgh around 8pm on Thursday, May 5.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the dad-of-three was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
Liam could not be saved and died on Saturday, May 7.
Police Scotland launched a probe into his death.
The force have now confirmed a 48-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with Liam's death.
He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.
Detective Inspector Scott Roxburgh, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “We’d like to thank the public for their assistance with this investigation.
“There will remain a police presence in the area over the coming days and we continue to appeal for anyone with further information to please come forward.
