An inquest has opened into the death of a 24-year-old man following a Warehouse Project event last month. Kyle Bolton told paramedics he 'felt unwell' during the event on April 9, and later died at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
The opening at Manchester Coroners' Court heard that Kyle attended the 'MK - Return to Manchester' event at the Mayfield Depot in the city centre on the Friday evening (April 9) before presenting himself to paramedics. Area coroner Zak Golombeck said that it was decided to take him to the emergency department at the MRI.
"En route he became unconscious," Mr Golombeck said, and on his arrival to hospital he was found to have a very high temperature of 40C. He also had a very high heart rate, with dilated pupils, 'rigid' muscles, and was going into a seizure.

"The information provided was that he had consumed minimal alcohol but quite a bit of MDMA," Mr Golombeck added. He was taken to the intensive care unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary but "sadly his condition quickly deteriorated and he was pronounced dead on April 10".
Mr Golombeck told the court: "At the time of this death being reported there was reference within the report to the use of MDMA, or ecstasy, and a reference to drug toxicity contributing to the death." A post-mortem investigation is still taking place with Mr Golombeck awaiting the 'final cause of death'.
The coroner has therefore requested 'further evidence' from GMP detailing their investigations and a full post-mortem to determine the cause of death. A witness statement from the paramedics who treated Kyle at the scene and on transfer to hospital as well as the clinicians who treated
