‘Making the Cut’ Renewed for Season 3, Sets Summer Return

EXCLUSIVE: HBO has handed a second season renewal to the weekly late-night series Game Theory With Bomani Jones. The series, which hails from Adam McKay’s Hyperobject Industries, wrapped its first season last month.

Amazon Freevee, the ad-funded streaming service, has unveiled a raft of renewals, unscripted orders and developments following its rebrand from IMDb TV.

Carson Burton Tubi has announced that its original animated series “The Freak Brothers” will return for a second season in December 2022. The series renewal is the first ever for the streamer.“The Freak Brothers,” which is based on Gilbert Shelton’s cult classic comic series “The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers,” follows a trio of stoner characters and their cat as they adjust to life in present-day San Francisco after smoking a magical strain of weed in 1969 forces them into a 50-year nap.

Tubi has handed a season 2 renewal to The Freak Brothers, its first animated original series, for premiere in December. The streaming service has ordered eight episodes of the adult animated comedy, based on Gilbert Shelton’s cult classic underground comic. Its all-star voice cast, which includes Woody Harrelson, John Goodman, Pete Davidson, Tiffany Haddish, Adam Devine, Blake Anderson, Andrea Savage, La La Anthony and Rapper ScHoolboy Q, are all returning for the second season.

The news comes days following the news that Han has inked an exclusive development deal with the streamer.The series stars Lola Tung as Isabel “Belly” Conklin, an ordinary teenage girl who spends the summer in Cousin’s Beach with her mother Laurel (Jackie Chung) and older brother Steven (Sean Kaufman).

NBC is bringing back College Bowl for a second season.

Netflix tonight announced that it has renewed its animated series Big Mouth for a seventh season, and will bring back its spinoff Human Resources for a second. The former series will be back with new episodes later this year.
