Drivers are being asked to avoid one of the main roads in Newton Heath after a burst water main caused the surface to become unstable.

Transport chiefs said a 'void' had opened up beneath the surface on Culcheth Lane, following a leak on Monday (August 9).

United Utilities (UU) said the pipe has now been repaired and that work on the road surface should be finished by Thursday.
