Married at First Sight viewers have been quick to slam the show’s double standards, after Porscha Pernelle and Terence Edwards became the first couple to leave the experiment in the wake of a tense cheating scandal. As regular viewers will know, it recently emerged this week that Porscha had been French kissing “four or five” of the other grooms during a game of spin the bottle when her husband wasn’t present.
Considering it an inconsequential act akin to pecking a friend on the cheek, Porscha simply dismissed it as being a game and nothing more, whereas her husband Terence had a far more critical view of the situation and believed it was an act of infidelity - a stance his fellow couples appeared to agree on. Discussing the situation with the show’s experts during the third commitment ceremony of the series on Wednesday, 11 October, Terence opened up about how he felt before confessing he no longer wished to take part in the experiment and wanted to bring his marriage to Porscha to an end.
After Terence had asked to leave, Porscha revealed she would not be changing her decision to stay as she told him: “No, I will not be changing my decision and if you still feel like you need to leave in a week, we will leave together - and discuss it beforehand.” “You’ve literally blindsided me right now. Up until an hour ago, you were kissing me, telling me everything’s going to be okay, babe.
So I’m not going to let this situation ruin my marriage. No.” Porscha then told the experts she thought Terence was “making a knee jerk decision” based on the opinions of others rather than himself, something which prompted an epic clap back from Terence.
