Mae Muller on Eurovision 2023 entry I Wrote A Song: "Sam Ryder's given me great advice"

With the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest grand final taking place in a matter of days (Saturday May 13, don't forget it), this year's UK entrant Mae Muller is ready for battle armed with the biggest of bops; I Wrote A Song.
This weekend, Mae will perform alongside the likes of Sweden's Loreen, Finland representative Käärijä and a whole host of countries yet to be selected in the biggest music event of the year.

Today, as she readies herself for the performance of a lifetime, we catch up with Mae to find out just how she's feeling about the show.
Speaking exclusively to Official Charts, Mae assures us: "The closer it gets, the less nervous I’m getting. Two months ago, I was a mess. Now, after the pre-parties, having performed it a bunch of times, the more prepared I am. I’m ready!"

Asked if any former Eurovision contestants have popped up in her DMs with words of wisdom, Mae revealed: "Sam Ryder’s been very sweet. He sent me a voice note giving me nice advice, like ‘take each day as it comes, it’s such a whirlwind so try to enjoy it.’ That was really nice.
"[2018 representative] SuRie gave me her number is literally the sweetest lady, I love her so much."
When quizzed on her favourite ever Eurovision entries, Mae said: "Netta’s Toy I loved, and Scooch [Flying the Flag]. Justice for Scooch! I loved Måneskin [Zitti e Buoni] as well, I feel like they really changed the way people viewed Eurovision."
On the moment she found out she'd been selected to represent the UK this year, Mae explained: "I found out in January. I wrote the song; it
