Edinburgh hotel.Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5am on Saturday after the alarm was raised in the Grassmarket area of the capital. Police have confirmed that a 22-year-old was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment however his current condition is not known.

car crash on the M8 which killed three men and left five more seriously injured.

Police have now confirmed two men, both aged 27, and one man, aged 31, were pronounced dead at the scene.
