M66 forced to close following 'serious' crash involving six vehicles

A stretch of the M66 has been closed after a vehicle overturned following a 'serious' crash this evening (September 25).

Emergency services were called to junction three near Pilsworth, Bury, at around 8:30pm this evening.

A man was cut free from a van following the smash on the southbound carriageway, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said.
