Sigur Rós have been cleared of tax evasion in a major case that has taken place in their native Iceland.The band – Georg “Goggi” Holm, Kjartan “Kjarri” Sveinsson, Orri Páll Dýrason and frontman Jónsi Birgisson – were indicted on tax evasion charges in 2019 by Iceland’s directorate of Internal Revenue after an investigation that began back in 2016.Sigur Rós admitted they evaded payment of 151 million Icelandic krona – amounting to £840,000 – in taxes between 2011 and 2014 and paid back the full
