Former Love Island contestant Brett Staniland has claimed that producers of the popular dating show once deleted one of his scenes after he “overshared” on the show. In the past, many contestants have accused the show of stitching them up with the editing process, but in Brett’s case, the cutting room actually ended up working in his favour.

“I went to the team and was like, ‘I need to speak to someone please,’ and told them, ‘I do not want that airing!’” Although Brett didn’t go on to reveal what his confession was, he did confirm that he was “relieved” when the crew got in touch the next day to confirm they wouldn’t air the footage of his moment of vulnerability. A new crop of islanders hoping to find love will now follow in Brett’s footsteps as the latest series of the hit dating show launches next week.
This year’s contestants come from a whole wealth of backgrounds and include the first deaf contestant, a paramedic, a senior microbiologist, a hotel waitress, a nanny - and a former England footballer's daughter. The show will once again be returning to
