Former Love Island winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey may have a rather idyllic life with their two children Freddie-George and Delilah, but it wasn't always quite so blissful. During a recent appearance on the MadebyMummas podcast, Cara revealed that the pair actually split up during her first pregnancy. Discussing how she and Nathan could barely speak to each other during that time, Clara said: "As soon as I found out I was pregnant we split up.
Could not stand each other, hated each other, we were just together for work. In the press I would never slate him. "I would never let on that we didn't like each other.
Whatever you put out there is there forever. And your children, when they're older, can read it. So I was doing magazine interviews, I went on This Morning, everything and I was like 'Oh he's amazing, we're such good friends.'" She continued: "He came to every appointment, but we would sit in baby scans and we wouldn't even talk to each other.
We'd turn up, I would have the scan, he'd sit in the chair and we would not even acknowledge each other and then we'd go." Following the birth of their son in 2017, Cara and Nathan rekindled their romance, going on to tie the 2019 at Preston Court Barn in Canterbury.
They then welcomed their second child, Delilah in 2020. Since becoming a mum-of-two, Cara has opened up about how having children has helped keep her depression at bay.
Talking to OK! back in 2022, she said: "I suffer badly with my mental health and I take my happy pill every day, but I find that my depression hasn’t been as present since I’ve had children. "It’s like there has always been a hole and since I’ve had Fred, that’s been filled.
