Love Island's Tommy Fury breaks silence over Dubai weigh-in controversy

Tommy Fury has been forced to break his silence following huge controversy over his weight ahead of his fight with Paul Bamba in Dubai, which has now been cancelled.

The boxer and reality TV star says that they were both given contracts and as far as he was aware, he made the weight on paper and that he's done his job - and has accused Paul Bama of never wanting to fight him.

But Bamba was left furious after he met the 175lb light-heavyweight limit while Fury came in at 181.4lb, meaning that he had just hours to lose nearly seven pounds.

In a video posted to his 4.2M followers on Instagram, Tommy said: "I just want to come on here and clear a few things up. One contract was given to Paul Bamba and one contract was given to myself.

"The weight on my contract I made yesterday, so as far as I'm concerned I've done my job. I made weight.

"Paul Bamba does not want to fight, he never did.

"I'm here in Dubai, I've got a new opponent and I'm ready to go, so I'll see you tonight."

Fury will now take on Rolly Lambert at the Coca-Cola Arena.

Speaking to The Sun in Dubai, Bamba said: "It came down to the final minutes, John Fury reached out to me personally.

"I told him to call me back with an offer, hung up the phone, he called me back about an hour later, gave me an offer which wasn't necessarily agreeable, I was reaching out to my team and while I was I actually bumped into John Fury.

"We started talking, man to man in person, and John is very polite, he's trying to make it work. He understands his side but he sees why I'm being the way I'm being and sticking to my guns."

On the offer, he added: "If he had increased it by a little bit more I would have accepted right away. But ultimately there will be no fight tonight."

Bamba added:
