Shaughna Phillips said she is “doing her best” amid the anxiety caused by earlier being mum-shamed over her first outing with her newborn daughter, Lucia.The former Love Island contestant, who starred in season six of the show with Finley Tapp, Paige Turley and Luke Trotman, welcomed her first daughter at the start of the month with her partner, Billy Webb. Shaughna has been updating fans through social media, and she earlier took Lucia out for a drive in a move that predictably drew some criticism.
“Before the mum police come for me,” she had written before explaining the various safety features and precautions she took before the drive. The reality TV star took to her Instagram once again on Wednesday, where she hit back at the haters with an inspirational quote.
It read: “Let’s be nicer to each other, we are all trying out best.” Beneath the snap, Shaugna shared a portion of her initial post that read: “I’ve been really struggling with my anxiety lately, done something out of my comfort zone today.” But some followers ignored the mother’s plea and wrote shaming comments anyway, with one person penning: “Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.This isn’t safe.” Addressing the backlash, Shaughna replied: “I’m going to keep showing the ups and downs of mamahood. I feel like it’s more important that than me worrying about a few people being unable tor read the room.
