Love Island star Molly Marsh is one of ten singletons heading to the iconic ITV2 villa this summer in order to find love. The musical theatre performer, 21, from Doncaster, who has an impressive social media following, has already appeared on stage in pantomime and her mum, Janet Marsh, is a recognised TV actress, having worked on the likes of Coronation Street. Janet has appeared in multiple roles in the long-running soap, appearing first as a nurse in 2005. She later returned to the cobbles as a receptionist at the Scott-Roe Clinic in March 2008 and then again as an ITU nurse in 2009.
And Molly, who has admitted she is very "family-orientated", has shared her mum's reaction to her joining the hit ITV2 dating series. Speaking to press including OK! ahead of entering the villa, Molly revealed whether her mum had given her any advice about being in front of the cameras and limelight. She said: "She hasn't given me any advice.
She's only done like small day player roles." Molly added: "She's just like me, she's so open to new opportunities. She's just really supportive and excited for me!" And it's not just her mum who is used to being in front of the camera as Molly herself has experience of presenting thanks to her work in social media. Talking about her isolation ahead of the villa, Molly said: "It's been great.
And you know what's really strange, I'm really enjoying not having my phone. So I'm really enjoying this. It's like a break from work.
It's great." She added of having no access to social media: "I'm actually really enjoying it. And I think, because I've been posting every single day for literally, what, four to three years? I did think it might come as quite a shock. But I'm really enjoying it.
