Elton John and the Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears have come together to collaborate on the creation of a brand new musical based on the life of the legendary televangelist and LGBTQI icon, Tammy Faye Messner. The new musical, entitled Tammy Faye is slated to begin its run at the Almeida Theatre in London’s West End in October 2022.The cast of Tammy Faye, which includes Beautiful’s Katie Brayben, The Book of Mormon’s Andrew Rannells, and Zubin Varla, began rehearsals for the show this week. Tammy Faye will feature music by Elton John, with lyrics by Jake Shears. John has also famously written music for The Lion King and Billy Elliott. Elton John was nominated for a Tony Award in 1998 for Best Original Score for his work collaborating on the score for The Lion King and was nominated again in 2009 for Best Original Score for his work on Billy Elliott.The musical is based on the life of the iconic Tammy Faye Messner, who along with her former husband Jim Bakker fronted the PTL Club television ministry during the 1970s and 1980s.

Jess Shears looked amazing as she showcased her stunning style credentials at the premiere for the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, in London on Monday evening. The former Love Island star, 29, was joined by her husband Dom Lever, 31, in Leicester Square for the event as the pair enjoyed a date night following the birth of their second son in June.
Jess shone as she wore a slinky yellow slip dress with a slim one-shoulder neckline and a high slit to the side, revealing some leg, as she graced along the red carpet arm-in-arm with Dom. The reality star wore peachy-toned blush and lipstick and completed her glamorous look with a pair of Perspex heeled sandals with huge gold hoop earrings, and had her ombre brunette hair styled in soft waves.
Dom was handsomely dressed in a white T-shirt and light grey blazer, which he teamed with a pair of black tailored trousers and matching belt and wore some fresh white trainers to finish.The couple’s relaxed appearance on the red carpet follows what was a particularly stressful lead-up to the event for Jess, as she had to find a last-minute outfit for the occasion. The star shared with her followers earlier in the day that she had ordered two dresses for the premiere, which both did not arrive in time, and was forced to source one on a nearby high street store mere hours before.
