The 23 year old had left his football career behind after winning £25k on the reality show.
Excited about his comeback, Finley took to Instagram to share the news with his followers, expressing his joy at getting back to something he loves. The star wrote: "Buzzing to have signed for Banbury Utd! Couldn't be happier to finally get back to doing something I love doing." The former islander added: "It's been a long time coming to get the boots back on, but I'm so pleased I did. It's been a tough couple of months putting my head down and working hard to get myself back fit, but I'm feeling good and looking forward to the season getting underway." Before his Love Island journey, Finley had been a semi-professional footballer, playing for non-league club Oxford City and Milton Keynes Dons.
His time on the show's first-ever winter series in South Africa catapulted him to fame, eventually leading to his victory alongside Paige. The couple moved in together during the coronavirus lockdown and enjoyed their time in a luxurious apartment in Manchester.
However, they shocked fans when they announced their split in April. Paige recently addressed their breakup on Love Island: Aftersun, revealing that they had "drifted apart" but remained on good terms as friends. The challenges of the pandemic and various life changes seemingly contributed to their decision to end their three-year relationship.
