Former Love Island winner Amber Gill has opened up about "accidentally" coming out and admitted she judges men more harshly than women. Amber, 25, who won the hit reality dating series in 2019, went viral last month after tweeting "switching teams was the best decision I made in my life".
The revealing comment came as she was tweeting her hilarious takes on that night's episode of the ITV2 show and followed another post in which she wrote: "Watching men makes me feel ill. I couldn't put myself through it again." She later said addressed speculation, saying she didn't want to speak about her sexuality until she was "ready".
On Thursday night, speaking on FUBAR Radio, Amber has revealed what she meant by her switching teams tweet and opened up about her dating life since her time in Casa Amor. The TV personality told Bobby Norris and Stephen Leng on showbiz gossip programme Access All Areas that it was an "off the cuff" comment but admitted that it was true, adding "I meant exactly what I said".
When asked if this was her coming out, Amber said: "Accidentally. I remember looking at [the tweet] and thinking 'sh*t, what have I said'.
"A lot of my friends were like 'if you were gonna do that any way, that's the typical way that you would do that'. "Normally people have these lovely, beautiful stories or lovely, beautiful, real Instagram posts, like just lush – I've put 'switching teams' on a tweet and that's how I came out."
