Love Island contestants' meal times aren't televised and they are rarely seen making or eating food, which has left viewers wondering what happens when they all sit down to eat together. Islanders are occasionally seen preparing breakfast or late night snacks, with Ekin-Su and Davide recently whipping up a Carbonara for their fellow co-stars in the evening. It's now been revealed that while contestants don't make their own meals during the day, any snacks they want at night they make themselves.
"We eat catering off camera separated to save the chat, but we love to snack. 3am toasties every night," Casa Amor bombshell Coco Lodge, 27, who was recently dumped from the island, told The Sun. It was also recently revealed that Love Island's head chef Ferenc prepares meals for the Islanders in addition to the production team, which all happens from a tent kitchen located in the wider villa compound.
Ferenc explained: "We do lunch and dinner for them, every single day. They always eat the food, but they really like the burger and the ribs as well. We always get feedback from the contestants and production, every single day." There was one complaint however, as last year's Islanders weren't so impressed with a 'meat free day' that was introduced. "Monday we just do vegetarian and vegan food, so lots of options.
Every week, every single week. We started this last year - and last year the people weren't really happy with that - but this year they are. "It's just one day, one day without meat.
