Louisville TV Reporter Shot By Police During Live Broadcast Covering Street Protests

Viewers of British morning show “Sunday Brunch” received some unexpected slapstick courtesy of host Tim Lovejoy.

CNN national correspondent Sara Sidner has covered protests and civil unrest all over the world, and has in the past week been reporting on the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis for the network. Reporters being arrested is nothing new; as in past protests, members of the press have had encounters with law enforcement.

The Louisville community is mourning after a local business owner was shot and killed by law enforcement as he ran a food stand during protests early Monday. David McAtee, known as «the BBQ Man,» used to feed police officers for free, CBS affiliate WKLY-TV reports.

Televangelist Pat Robertson publicly scolded President Donald Trump during “The 700 Club” Tuesday, saying that his response to the unrest after George Floyd’s death “isn’t cool.”

The Australian prime minister is calling for an investigation after two Aussie journalists were assaulted by police during a protest on live television.

However, rather than addressing the situation, Trump reportedly hid in a bunker for nearly an hour, according to a Republican close to the White House, who has remained anonymous, per the New York Times. The report was also anonymously confirmed by an administration official.

High Fidelity star John Cusack was hit with pepper spray during a Black Lives Matter protest in his native Chicago, Illinois on Saturday night. The masked actor found himself in the middle of a stand-off between activists and police in the city and he was targeted by cops trying to disperse the crowds.
