Prosecutors will not seek a second re-trial after jurors were unable to agree whether Louis Saha Matturie sexually assaulted a woman. Louis Matturie, 42, a friend of former Manchester City star Benjamin Mendy, had been found not guilty of other sexual offences including rape, after he was accused by a number of different women.
Two juries sitting at Chester Crown Court were unable to reach a verdict on one count of sexual assault. At a court hearing on Thursday, prosecutors confirmed that a second re-trial was not being sought. They offered no evidence and Mr Matturie was found not guilty of the charge.
It marks the end of the joint legal proceedings against the former Manchester City footballer and his friend. Both men were found not guilty of all the allegations they were accused of, following a six month case in which they stood trial together, and two subsequent re-trials which they faced alone.

Mr Mendy was found not guilty of eight counts of rape, one count of attempted rape and one count of sexual assault. The allegations were made by seven women.
Mr Matturie was cleared of eight counts of rape and four counts of sexual assault. The allegations concerned eight women.
Both men had always denied wrongdoing. During his first trial, Mr Mendy admitted that he 'enjoyed to have sex', and said it was 'normal' for him to have sex with different women on the same night. He said he accepted his behaviour had been 'disrespectful' but denied ever raping or sexually assaulting any woman.
