Joe Otterson TV ReporterAt a time when the global content business is moving faster than ever, many writers feel like they’re still stuck in second gear by the nature of series deal contracts that haven’t kept pace with the times.At present, networks, studios and streamers can hold writers and talent under exclusive deals for anywhere from nine months to more than a year in some cases, per standard series agreement deals.

Based on Elena Ferrante‘s book of the same name, Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s terrific directorial debut, the Gotham Award-winning film “The Lost Daughter” is about a woman’s beach vacation in Greece, which takes a dark turn when her obsession with a young mother forces her to confront the secrets of her past. The movie uncovers the complex notions of guilt and resentment that can build up when confronting how motherhood is all-consuming.

fans can take heart in the idea that the beloved series starring Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff might not be done just yet. ET's Leanne Aguilera spoke with the show's creator, Darren Star, at the premiere of the second season of his Netflix series, and asked if  might have a second life as a film. «I would love to do a movie, and I think the entire cast, at some point, would like to get back together for it,» Starr told ET.

So, one dark and stormy night, fueled by rage and tequila, she tries to kill him.

EXCLUSIVE: Eva De Dominici has been tapped for a heavily recurring role opposite Adan Canto on The Cleaning Lady, Fox’s adaptation of the Argentinean drama starring Elodie Yung, from The 100 writer Miranda Kwok, Stargirl EP Melissa Carter, who is showrunner, Shay Mitchell’s Amore & Vita Productions, Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment.

The series would then reportedly delve into The Penguin’s rise to power in the Gotham criminal underworld.
