But when we caught-up with the legendary presenter, she spoke openly to us about her weight gain and the "hilarious" moment last November which prompted her to embark on her wellbeing mission. Lorraine, who has gone from a size 10 to a 14 over the pandemic and is following the WW plan to shed the lockdown pounds, told us: "I was talking to the boys from The Wanted on my show and my button pinged off my dress during the interview.
"I nearly took one of their eyes out. It was hilariously funny and I didn’t expose myself or anything like that – those poor young men! When OK! pointed out she doesn't look any different, the ITV star explained: "If you look at me you can tell because I’m wearing different things. "And I can show you the labels! I’m definitely a size 14, for sure. I wanted to wear my favourite red dress as I was going to a big ITV event.
I thought, “Oh I’ll just try this on.” No chance!" The 62 year old CBE, who shares daughter Rosie, 27, with her husband Steve Smith, explained that said dress "didn't even go over" her thighs. "Before the pandemic I would have got into that and I would have felt good," she revealed. "So I ended up wearing a black stretchy dress and I looked absolutely fine, but I didn’t feel fine." Lorraine attributes her weight gain to "comfort eating" and not being able to go to her fitness classes during the pandemic.
