Longtime Saturday Night Live co-creator and exec Lorne Michaels revealed when he might retire and leave the comedy variety show behind.
The 77-year-old co-created the show back in 1975, and apart from a few years in the 1980s where he took a hiatus, he’s been around and making major casting and artistic decisions on the show.
Now, he revealed when he might depart.

Longtime "Saturday Night Live" boss, Lorne Michaels, is thinking ahead to when he might ultimately retire from his position at the show. Michaels has been the co-creator and lead producer of the series since it got its start in the 1970s. He left his duties in 1980 only to return five years later, where he’s been at the helm of the popular late-night sketch series ever since.
