The 2023 London Marathon is scheduled to take place on Sunday, with 40,000 people heading to the capital to complete the famous 26.2 mile course. Among those taking part will be many famous faces, including the likes of Radio 1's Adele Roberts, The Crown actor Josh O'Connor and musician Marcus Mumford. Each year dozens of celebrities take part in the race, but for some their marathon experience caused controversy or was just complete chaos.
From Katie Price and Georgia Harrison to Sir Mo Farah, here we take a look at some of the most chaotic and controversial celebrity marathon stories... Mo Farah Sir Mo Farah has ran the London Marathon three times, with 2023 set to be Mo's fourth and final go at the iconic race. Back in 2018, Mo, 40, suffered a blunder in front of cameras when running the race as he picked up a fellow competitors water bottle instead of his own.
After noticing his mistake, he raced back to collect his own bottle which caused him to waste valuable running time. He then made the error again further down the race, leaving him noticeably frustrated. Mo could be seen exchanging tense words with volunteers at the time.
Speaking after the London Marathon in 2018, Mo explained: "I know they were really helpful towards the end but at the beginning someone was trying to take pictures but after 15k I found it ok. “I just told them [the safety stewards] to get the staff to be a bit more helpful please.To stop taking pictures and maybe point at my drink and thats what they were doing at the end. “My drink and the other runners’ drinks looked exactly the same.

Congratulations, Adele!” Adele had a tiny replica medal made for her stoma, which she has named Audrey, which she shared in a video posted on her Instagram story.
