Living Room Coronavirus Benefit Concert Raises $10 Million, to Reair on Fox Monday

Police were forced to break up a crowd that emerged for a coronavirus benefit concert in Florida due to the fact that the gathering violated the state's social distancing guidelines. Police said they dispersed crowds violating the guidelines during David Guetta’s recent coronavirus relief concert in Miami designed to benefit charities working to feed and treat people amid the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the saving graces amid the devastating coronavirus pandemic is that while many of us are practicing social distancing by staying at home in a wide effort to lessen the spread of the novel illness, it has also allowed us to spend much-needed time with our families and reach out to those we maybe haven’t spoken to in a long time.

To thank the many people working on the frontlines during the coronavirus pandemic, Lady Gaga tapped some of the biggest names in Hollywood for a special benefit concert in partnership with Global Citizen and the World Health Organization.

Bruce Springsteen, SZA, Bon Jovi, Halsey, and more artists will perform a benefit concert for the state of New Jersey to support its Pandemic Relief Fund. Organized with the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund (NJPRF), the at-home performances will be broadcast on local television, radio, and online via Apple Music and E Street Radio on SiriusXM. Other performers include Tony Bennett, Charlie Puth, Chelsea Handler, and more.

A coronavirus benefit concert called One World: Together at Home has been announced, featuring performances from Billie Eilish, Paul McCartney and Coldplay‘s Chris Martin.

As recently as last Tuesday, just three artists had signed on to “Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America.” But after a week of scrambling and all-night editing sessions, the producers and executives behind the special managed to put together a one-hour event on Sunday night that attracted at least 5.5 million viewers, and has so far raised more than $8 million.

Elton John and his famous friends know how to put on a great show for an even greater cause. On Sunday night, the Grammy winner hosted the iHeartRadio Living Room Concert for America on Fox, which helped to support two of the many charitable organizations helping victims and first responders during the Coronavirus pandemic: Feeding America and First Responders Children's Foundation.

On Sunday night, Fox aired the first primetime coronavirus concert special — one of several which have been announced in recent days — and it made for one gripping hour of activism. Hosted by Elton John, Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America featured a range of singer-songwriters performing music and sharing words of solidarity from their homes to encourage donations to Feeding America and First Responders Children's Foundation.

YouTube is now streaming the benefit special “Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America” through Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET on iHeartRadio’s YouTube Channel. The one-hour event, which debuted on Fox Sunday night, March 29, was created to help fight the spread of the coronavirus and to “celebrate the resilience and strength of the nation during this pandemic.”

Fox announced on Sunday that Ellen DeGeneres, Lady Gaga, Ken Jeong, Ryan Seacrest, Melissa McCarthy, and Ben Falcone would also appear during Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America concert event.
