(CNN)Michelle Obama is helping to give students a prom. Obama's nonpartisan organization, When We All Vote, and MTV will host a virtual prom event for the class of 2020.

Michelle Obama did her best to cheer up U.S. Class of 2020 high school graduates during her appearance on Friday’s (May 22, 2020) MTV Prom-athon.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, high school students have been unable to attend traditional proms due to national stay-at-home orders and bans on large gatherings. But MTV made celebration possible — at least virtually — by airing a dance Prom-athon for the class of 2020 onFriday night.

As per Variety, the star power has doubled up now with the inclusion of Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Demi Lovato and more.

Reynolds and emphasized the importance of libraries. “It’s a fun book that vividly illustrates the transformative power of words, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did,” Barack said of the kid’s book.
