remixed the song.Earlier this week (May 14), BERWYN released ‘I AM BLACK’ – an anthemic and bold single that relays a true and honest depiction of Blackness. The track is also “underpinned by a heavy sadness” and “shines a light on the harsh realities of so many people in his situation across the country and beyond”.BERWYN said about the writing process: “I really wanted to make an opportunity in the world where people can say those three words in a positive way.”‘I AM BLACK’ was one of the most difficult records BERWYN has ever written as it draws on his experience of leaving his father in Trinidad at age nine and moving to Romford, London to live with his Grandmother.Speaking on the experience, he explained: “I left a country where colour doesn’t matter so much, [so] moving from blackness to Romford – you’re forced into corners of survival.”The 28-year-old has yet to announce a release date for his first studio album, but ‘I AM BLACK’ is also expected to feature on the record.

Disclosure have finally released their viral energetic single ‘She’s Gone, Dance On’.The British electronic duo – comprised of brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence – first performed the song last October at a pop-up show in Los Angeles. They then went on to premiere the track on BBC Radio 1, which caused it to go viral.‘She’s Gone, Dance On’ features a pulsing, bright beat with the lyrics: “In time, she’ll find / This was so kind / So long, dance on / She’s gone, dance on,” which were pulled and sampled from the late legendary Italian composer Ennio Morricone’s 1978 track ‘Dance On’ from the film Così Come Se.The duo had previously distributed ‘She’s Gone, Dance On’ to their DJ colleagues with the likes of Todd Edwards, Joy Anonymous, salute, DJ Seinfeld, Peggy Gou, and Sammy Virji playing the track during their sets.Most notably, Dom Dolla played it during his Coachella set last month, with clips of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce dancing to it circling social media.‘She’s Gone, Dance On’ comes ahead of the duo’s set at Primavera Sound in Barcelona tomorrow (May 31) as well as Parklife Festival and Glastonbury next month, HARD in LA and Portola in San Francisco.Disclosure’s last album release was 2023’s ‘Alchemy’.
