Back in 2018, fans were left heartbroken when Ant McPartlin announced his split from wife Lisa Armstrong after 11 years of marriage and a total of 20 years together. According to court documents, Lisa filed for divorce as living with Ant had become 'intolerable'.
The heartbreak didn't stop there for Lisa, 47, who discovered that Ant had moved on with their former PA Anne-Marie Corbett through the media. Anne-Marie had been employed by the couple for six years and had even organised their 10th wedding anniversary party in 2016.
Outside of work, Lisa and Anne-Marie were friends. However, just a year later, everything changed between the three of them, with Lisa expressing her shock in a heartbreaking 12-word tweet. In June 2018, The Sun revealed that Ant, 48, had started dating Anne-Marie, with the pair growing close amid Ant's personal struggles.
Lisa took to social media platform X, then known as Twitter, claiming she'd only found out about the romance after reading about it in the newspaper. In a candid response to a fan's sympathy, Lisa wrote: "Yeah My friend and OUR PA who I let into OUR home," followed by a broken heart emoji. When questioned if Ant had given her a heads-up about his relationship with their former PA Anne-Marie Corbett going public, she revealed: "Nope.
Just [found out] how you guys did x". Ant, 46, wed Anne-Marie in a lavish ceremony in August 2021 and they've set up an idyllic life in their £6 million Wimbledon Village mansion, a stone's throw away from the Chiswick residence he once shared with Lisa. It seems there's no love lost between Lisa and Ant, and she often shares cryptic posts to Instagram, which many of her fans could assume are directed at her ex-husband.
