Moneybagg Yo Talks New Mixtape, ‘Hard to Love,’ Entrepreneurship, and Making Lil Wayne Re-Do a Verse

Yousef Srour Moneybagg Yo is preparing to be the South’s next mogul. His face is pasted on four different flavors of Rap Snacks, he has his own line of VIOR alkaline water, and he runs his own record label, Bread Gang Entertainment.  At 31, the Memphis-born rapper — whose new mixtape, “Hard to Love,” dropped today — still remembers the hustle of releasing his first one back in 2012, “From Da Block 2 Da Booth.” “We were writing on my CDs,” Moneybagg (real name: DeMario DeWayne White Jr.) recalls. “We were passing them out and getting posters and pullovers and anything we thought was going to put in the groundwork.” Raised on Juvenile and Three 6 Mafia, ‘Bagg has looked to ‘90s hip-hop royalty to cultivate his own ambitions as an entrepreneur.

Bring Me The Horizon drop surprise single with Lil Uzi Vert and Daryl Palumbo

Bring Me The Horizon have teamed up with rapper Lil Uzi Vert and Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw for new single ‘AmEN!’.‘AmEN!’ is a powerhouse track featuring BMTH frontman Oli Sykes‘ signature howling growl and a perfect flowing rap verse from Uzi himself. The song also tackles the theme of extra-religious hypocrisy with the opening verse reading: “I hope you have fun/ Rotting in hell!/ Swim the witch/ Slay the infidel!/ Suck a dick heretic!/ I hate you! & I’d like to see you/ Burn, burn, burn!”The new single debuted last night (June 1) at the band’s show in Budapest.

Lil Uzi Vert embraces the mosh pit on Bring Me The Horizon’s “AmEN!”

The idea of Lil Uzi Vert as a rockstar might be a well-worn one by now, but it's something they have leaned into this week. First came an appearance with Paramore at Madison Square Garden, with Uzi joining the band to perform their song "Misery Business." Today they appear on a new Bring Me The Horizon track, arguably the heaviest musical moment of Uzi's career to date.

Alicia Keys gives Lil Durk therapy in new video

Everyone needs a little therapy, and Lil Durk — who lost his friend and frequent collaborator King Von in 2020 and his brother DThang in 2021, and whose long-running beef with YoungBoy Never Broke Again (partly related to Von’s murder) has been all over the internet again this month — is certainly no exception. In a new Steve Cannon-directed clip debuting the first two tracks on Dirk’s new album Almost Healed — out tomorrow (May 26) via Alamo — he gets some much needed time on the couch. In “Therapy Session,” the album’s intro and roughly the video’s first third, he takes in some wisdom from none other than Alicia Keys, who’s become something of a mental health guru after her own well-documented struggles with mental illness early in her career.

As fans on social media, as well as HipHopDX, report, it seems that Wayne arrived on stage at the Wiltern an hour later than billed but started his set as expected (including a surprise appearance from special guest 2 Chainz).
