Lil Nas X Covers Beyonce, Brings Theatrical Show to New York’s Prestigious Radio City Music Hall: Concert Review

Emanuel Okusanya It hardly seems possible that, more than three years after the blockbuster success of “Old Town Road” — which became the longest-charting single in Billboard history and the most-platinum-certified single, with 15 at last count — and many, sometimes-controversial videos and television performances, Lil Nas X is only now on his first major tour. The artist’s 29-date “Long Live Montero” tour made two sold-out stops at New York’s prestigious Radio City Music Hall this week, and he didn’t disappoint in terms of music or visuals (although he did keep things relatively PG, apart from kissing one of his male dancers behind a curtain).

Lil Nas X Sent Pizza to ‘Homophobic Protestors’ Outside Boston Concert

Ethan Shanfeld Lil Nas X is a master of attracting attention, from his eye-popping red carpet looks to his devilish music video for “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” which sparked outrage from conservative media. It is perhaps no surprise, then, that a religious group showed up outside his Boston, Mass., concert Sunday night to protest the provocative artist. Lil Nas, an expert at disarming those who criticize or spew hatred toward him, decided to capitalize on the moment with a kind gesture. Reposting a video of the protesters on Twitter, the artist wrote: “Just told my team to send them pizza, this is really good promo!” Several hours later, the rapper posted another video of his team delivering free pizza to the group, who declined the offer. Midway through the edited clip, the camera slows down and fixates on one of the protesters wearing a shirt that says “Christ’s Forgiveness Ministries Revival,” while romantic music plays in the background.

G Herbo shares “Me, Myself & I” featuring A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, announces new album

Chicago rapper G Herbo has announced his new album Survivor's Remorse with its lead single "Me, Myself & I" featuring New York's A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. The new track continues on the path Herbo laid with his 2020 project PTSD, an album about wounds both physical and unseen, and how easy it is to get sidetracked on the road to healing. Judging from Herbo's lyrics, he's wrestling with the same demons that defined so much of PTSD: "I been tweakin' (Trippin'), hardly ever sleepin' (Slippin') / Always overthinkin' (I feel it), tryna duck the reaper (That's how I'm livin')" A Boogie's verses are a bit too cloying to stack up next to Herbo's, though, even when they're trading bars in the final verse.
