It may only be November, but Lidl is gearing up for the festive season with the return of two Christmas favourites. Back by popular demand, the budget supermarket will be selling its iconic branded Christmas jumper - which was its fastest-ever selling item in the famous middle aisle last year.
It's even got a brand new design for 2022, but the unmissable Lidl logo is still proudly on display. Also making its grand return after selling out for the past two years is the pigs in blankets pizza, which Christmas dinner fans won't want to miss out on.
To celebrate the return of these two festive favourites, Lidl has spoofed two stills from classic Christmas movies that you'll probably be tuning into over the next few weeks.
The Lidl Branded Christmas Jumper, £7.99, will be making its comeback this year with an updated yet still unmissable Christmassy Lidl design. This time, the jumper is modelled in the signature style of Buddy the Elf - devouring a bowl of spaghetti and a curious candy concoction.
One jumper sold every two seconds back in 2021, making it hugely popular amongst Christmas fans. It's set to hit stores on November 24, but shoppers are warned to act fast as it's likely to be a sell-out again.
Also making a welcome comeback is Lidl’s infamous Deluxe Pigs in Blanket Pizza for £3.99, a sell-out success in previous years thanks to its crusty sourdough base and abundance of traditional festive toppings.
Taking inspiration from Home Alone 2 , the pizza is pictured in the back of a limo with Lidl’s very own Kevin McCallister – enjoyed with a glass of Freeway Cola for the full A-List experience. This festive delight can be purchased from Lidl stores from November 8, making it the perfect pre-Christmas treat.

At this point it is almost impossible to count the number of remakes, ripoffs, variations, takeoffs and general thievery on the part of filmmakers riffing on Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. The latest imitation, Spirited, isn’t even the only new version to debut this season; I can count at least two others still waiting for liftoff as the yuletide tidings continue in 2022. But this one has some real firepower in terms of who is involved with the Apple TV+ original film, chief among them stars Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell, who deliver a take most closely aligned with Bill Murray’s modern 1988 Scrooged, a homage even noted in the rat-a-tat snarky script here by John Morris and Sean Anders (Daddy’s Home), the latter who also directed.

The songwriter who accused Mariah Carey of ripping off her festive hit ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ from an earlier song he wrote of the same name has voluntarily dismissed his song theft lawsuit.Vince Vance sued Carey in June explaining that he co-wrote a song called ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ back in 1989, a version of which was recorded and released, enjoying “extensive airplay”, in 1993. That was the year before Carey released her album ‘Merry Christmas’ on which her much more famous song ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ appears.Carey’s hit, Vance argued, was a derivation of his song, but no permission was ever sought to exploit his work in that way, which means his copyright was infringed.

Christmas is going to be extra Christmassy this year, because the BBC has commissioned Cliff Richard to perform a set of his festive classics and more for the yuletide season. The hour-long show will be filmed at St John At Hackney Church with various guests joining in the fun. As well as that, Sara Cox will interview the musician at Abbey Road Studios.Songs likely to be on the setlist include, of course, ‘Mistletoe & Wine’ and ‘Saviour’s Day’ – both of them Christmas number ones – plus ‘Millennium Prayer’, which is more of a new year song, but whatever.”I remember, as though it was yesterday, the three series – each containing thirteen shows – that I did for the BBC in the 70s”, says Cliff, slightly irrelevantly.
