Sir Ed Davey has defended one of his Lib Dem candidates in Greater Manchester who made a 'very bad joke' when she asked if a voter from Liverpool had been 'nicking stuff'. Lisa Smart, who is hoping to become an MP in Hazel Grove, has apologised for the comments.
