Derry Girls has made megastars of its cast, but fans were still shocked to see Hollywood royalty in the first episode of the new series.
Liam Neeson made a surprise appearance in the hit comedy as the final season began.
The 69-year-old played a police inspector who is sent in to find the truth after a burglary took place at the school.
He delighted viewers as he grilled characters Clare, Erin, Orla, Michelle and James about the crime.
The Channel 4 show stars Nicola Coughlan, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and Dylan Llewellyn.
The tale is set to come to an end after this series, but fans tuning into the show yesterday were shocked to see the Taken star in his shock cameo.
We have had several reports of suspicious activity on the grounds of Our Lady Immaculate College this evening," he said.
"Following up on that lead we discover you five on the premises, that the locks of the side door have been forced and the alarm system deactivated. Now we can’t get hold of the head mistress, Sister George Michael, but the caretaker has informed us that a substantial amount of computer equipment seems to have vanished."
The police soon realised the teenagers weren't guilty of the crime, and that the real burglars had been caught on CCTV.
Referencing Uncle Colm, the police inspector - played by Neeson - told the group of teenagers: "Please do go and for the love of suffering Jesus take him with you," as he made a dig at the rather dull character.
Fans were overjoyed with the surprise appearance.
"Well you could have knocked me down with a feather when Liam Neeson made his appearance in the new #DerryGirls!" one fan penned.
A second added: "Did I just see Liam Neeson as a hot police inspector #DerryGirls."
