MGM has enacted a round of companywide layoffs, Variety has learned exclusively. The studio’s marketing and distribution arm United Artists Releasing has also furloughed one third of its staff.
Seven percent of MGM’s workforce of 750 was eliminated on Friday, around 50 jobs, insiders said. The cuts come across the entire operation, in departments including scripted and unscripted television and feature film.

The King: Eternal Monarch released its 5th and 6th episodes over the weekend. The two episodes unfolded several subplots. This included Jung Tae Eul riding her way into Lee Gon's universe on the white horse, roaming around the streets of Seoul in the Kingdom of Corea, a war between Corea and Japan, a glimpse at Lee Rim's plans and the romance between Gon and Tae Eul finally blooming. While there are several talking points, Twitter managed to point a reference and lost their minds over it.

Seth Rogen's An American Pickle is moving across town and across media. HBO Max, the new digital streaming service from WarnerMedia, has acquired worldwide rights to the Rogen-starring comedy from Sony Pictures and will release the movie this summer under its Warner Max label.

The two episodes set the premise of the show. The show revolves around two parallel universes. Min Ho plays a handsome Emperor, Lee Gon, the third generation emperor of Korea. Go Eun takes on the role of detective Jung Tae Eul. During the first episode, the show revealed Lee Gon was attacked as a child.
