‘Law & Order: For the Defense’ Scrapped at NBC

’s return with season 2 this fall, ET has learned that Ron Cephas Jones and Vinnie Jones have joined the cast in recurring roles. The two actors join Chris Meloni, who first returned as Elliot Stabler in season 1. According to NBC, Jones, who recently won his second Emmy for his performance on, will play Congressman Leon Kilbride.

A grand jury in Queens, New York, charged TV actor Isaiah Stokes for the murder of Tyrone Jones.

press release on Friday. The TV actor was arraigned Friday morning on a three-count indictment charging him with murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Isaiah Stokes has been indicted.

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at LargeNBC is not moving forward with “Law & Order: For the Defense,” which had been announced earlier this spring as the latest installment of Dick Wolf’s “Law & Order” franchise. Instead, “The Blacklist” will shift to Thursdays at 8 p.m.

NBC has set fall premiere dates for its new series Ordinary Joe and La Brea, along with its returning Chicago fare and Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Organized Crime. The Blacklist moves to a new night on Thursdays from its previous Friday slot, taking the place of previously announced Law & Order: For The Defense, which is not moving forward. It premieres its ninth season on Thursday, October 21 at 8 PM PT/ET.

Law & Order: For the Defense, which had been slated for a fall 2021 launch with a straight-to-series order, has been scrapped by NBC. The legal drama, which was supposed to be part of a Law & Order Thursday lineup alongside Law & Order: SVU and Law & Order: Organized Crime, will be replaced on the schedule by veteran The Blacklist, which will relocate from Fridays to the Thursday 8 PM berth.

Tennessee’s Republican Gov. Bill Lee signed House Bill 1182 into law in May, which required any “building or facility open to the general public” that allows trans access to post a sign with this language: “This facility has a policy of allowing the use of restrooms by either biological sex, regardless of the designation on the restroom.” It applies to locker rooms, showers, and dressing rooms as well, and went into effect July 1.

Lea Seydoux is supposed to be the toast of this year’s Cannes Film Festival with four films, including three in competition. But sources say that the French star may cancel her trip to the South of France after testing positive for Covid.Seydoux has not made the trip to Cannes yet; she’s currently on the production of a film during which contracted Covid.
