In the wake of former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst’s shocking death, an essay she penned last year is resurfacing for its harrowing reflections on aging. As Perezcious readers know, the Miss USA 2019 winner reportedly died by suicide on Sunday. Authorities told The Post that she jumped from her 60-story Orion apartment building on 350 W. 42nd street around 7:15 a.m. She was found dead on the street.

Chelsie Kryst’s death was officially ruled a suicide on Feb. 1, the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to People. Cheslie died at the age of 30 on Jan. 30, and her autopsy was completed two days later. The Medical Examiner also confirmed that Cheslie had “multiple blunt impact injuries” after her death, according to CNN. Police had previously confirmed that Cheslie was pronounced dead at the scene after falling from a “higher elevation” of a 60-story building in Manhattan.
Cheslie Kryst died at 30 years old from suicide and her father Rodney Kryst, 62, is speaking out for the first time. He wants people to know that she didn’t do drugs or alcohol but rather it was likely depression that lead her to take her own life. “She was pure, she didn’t take any kind of drugs or prescription medication,” Cheslie’s father told New York Post on Tuesday, Feb. 1. “She never had any kind of substance abuse problem.”
