‘Last Man Standing’ & ‘The Resident’ Renewed For 2020-2021 Season By Fox

Season 9 of Last Man Standing is officially a go, and though writing and production on Season 9 haven't started yet, the team is already thinking of how to make the sitcom timely and relevant when it returns. As TV Guide already reported, there's going to be a new addition to the family, more Eve going forward, and even a chance that Mike (Tim Allen) and his son-in-law Ryan (Jordan Masterson) will find some common ground.

Manchester United and Manchester City both say they accept the FA's decision to end the Women's Super League season with immediate effect, due to the pressures caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Update 5/22/20: Last Man Standing has been renewed! Fox made the announcement that the show is returning as part of a larger reveal of its plans for the 2020-21 season and beyond. Head here for more on Fox's lineup for next season.

A new drama and a new comedy are coming to ABC in the coming months.  The network just announced that it has picked up The Big Sky, a drama by David E. Kelley, and Call Your Mother, a comedy from Kari Lizer.  The Big Sky is a mystery thriller about two private detectives Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt teaming up with ex-cop Jenny Hoyt (who also happens to be Cody's estranged wife) to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver.

If you worried about Last Man Standing and The Resident after they were left out of the press release announcing the fall 2020 plans, you can breathe a sigh of relief. Fox has made it official: The Resident and Last Man Standing have been renewed for the 2020-2021 TV season.

Last Man Standing won't lay down just yet. The Fox comedy has officially been renewed, TV Guide has learned, bringing the series to its ninth season.

With film and television productions shut down around the globe, the stars, like many other people, are waiting out the coronavirus pandemic at home. Some celebs are staying active, some are lounging around and some are doing a little bit of both, but they're all keeping busy without leaving the house.

Last Man Standing hasn't been renewed for Season 9 yet, and in Fox's recent announcement of what's to come for the fall season, the Tim Allen-led family series wasn't on the schedule. Delays on a decision may be due in part to the fact that, last season, Fox unveiled Last Man Standing as a midseason program, kicking off Season 8 in January of 2019.

The coronavirus pandemic halted production on not just a number of fan-favorite shows like Grey's Anatomy and Law & Order: SVU, but also on pilots in contention for the 2020-2021 season, throwing a wrench in the traditional pilot season and upfront plans for broadcast networks CBS, ABC, Fox, NBC and The CW. But that hasn't stopped the major broadcast networks from already ordering shows for the new season.

Last Man Standing hasn't been renewed for Season 9 yet, but members of the team have their fingers crossed for another go at it, with big plans about how they'd move forward.
