Lady Gaga kicked off the “One World: Together at Home” telecast with a soulful performance of “Smile,” a classic popularized by Nat King Cole.
Gaga, who coordinated with World Health Organization leaders, corporations and musicians for the virtual concert, opened the special, saying, “Tonight is not a fundraiser, so put your wallets away. … The artists are here to say thank you.”
Gaga called the special, “our love letter to the world.”

Yesterday, Lady Gaga and Global Citizen put on a livestreamed concert special featuring performances from a number of queer artists.
It seems we weren’t the only ones glued to our TV screens during the “One World: Together At Home” global event. Lady Gaga, 34, took to Instagram Live during the concert to film her reactions, and she was totally blown away by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder’s spine chilling performance Of “River Cross”.
Lady Gaga co-organized the One World: Together At Home concert along with Global citizen, that aired on Saturday night on the television. The two-hour-long show featured many A-lister music stalwarts come together virtually in order to pay tribute to the frontline staff working amidst the Coronavirus outbreak and to keep the audience entertained during the crisis.
The special brought some much-needed joy to families across the globe amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The best performance of the night during the One World: Together At Home special was saved for last – Celine Dion made a surprise appearance to perform “The Prayer” with some friends!
