Climate protestors have been 'forcefully' flung out of a political event at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as Labour Party deputy leader Angela Rayner answered questions.
Around five activists were removed from the International Conference Centre during the show - named Spoken Word - at around 5pm today. Security rapidly moved in as the campaigners stormed the performance, allegedly 'shouting' at the politician and host Iain Dale.
The group stood with banners and began 'heckling' the shadow cabinet member about climate change as she received queries from the audience.
An eyewitness told the Record: "They were taking questions from the audience at the end, then about four or five people stood up with their banners. They were asking what Labour are doing about climate change. They were told to stop interrupting as they were heckling them.
"This went on for a few minutes and Angela wasn't answering their questions so they walked out and left. One guy started shouting and he had to be forcefully pushed out as he wouldn't leave."
Video footage from the event depicts one protestor chanting for a 'new green deal' before they are told to 'sit down' then flung from the venue. The Daily Record has approached the Labour Party and Police Scotland for comment.
