The felony charge includes a sentence of up to 40 years in prison, according to the amended complaint obtained by HollywoodLife. The complaint argues that Chauvin acted “without intent to effect the death of any person, while committing or attempting to commit a felony offense” when Floyd died.

The death of George Floyd while being under police custody under broad daylight has created public outcry all over the world. People have been protesting against the police brutality, racial discrimination and all other heinous crimes that led to the loss of lives like that of Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and many other victims.
