KROQ's Kevin Ryder Says Entire Morning Show Team Was Fired

When the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal broke out, it was like a domino effect where everyone's demons were coming out in the open. The higher the authority you had, the easier it was to bring them down.

The public feud between Flavor Flav and Chuck D reached a boiling point in early March when Public Enemy announced that Flav was fired from the group. As it turns out, the whole dust-up appears to have been an elaborate April Fools ruse to help promote a new album from Chuck’s project Enemy Radio. Loud Is Not Enough is out now (listen below), and it features a single with both Chuck and Flav called “Food as a Machine Gun.”

Kevin Ryder wasn’t planning on saying anything after being fired from KROQ after more than 30 years in the show’s morning drive time slot. But then he found out that the station also unceremoniously pink slipped his entire team — including the hourly part-time workers who could have easily been reassigned elsewhere. And they did it in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic, with few prospects for new work.

Phillip Schofield has hinted that the This Morning show could be shutdown in the near future as coronavirus continues to sweep the country. Speaking on their usual morning show and holding on to a selection of yellow pages, the 47 year old and his co-host Holly Willoughby, 38, could be seen speaking about the different TV show's that have been forced to change their schedules or the way they film.
