Death in Paradise spin-off. The Love Actually actor delighted fans of the show last month when he revealed that he would be reprising his role as DCI Humphrey Goodman in a new BBC show. The spin-off in question, entitled Beyond Paradise, will be set in a "rural setting in the south west," according to Marshall.
It won't be long until work on the show really starts to get underway, as filming is set to begin at the start of August. Speaking to Digital Spy, Marshall explained: "We start filming imminently, in about three weeks. We're in the process now, we've got most of the main cast but we're sort of casting some of the supporting roles.
" READ MORE: What Camilla's title will be when Prince Charles becomes king So far, details for the new series have been kept largely under wraps, but fans do know that Beyond Paradise will follow Humphrey and his fiancée Martha Lloyd (played by Sally Bretton) as they return to the UK and adjust to life in rural England. As long-time viewers of the BBC drama will know, Humphrey fell in love Martha on the original show. Discussing what viewers can expect, the Sanditon actor said: "I can't really say much about what happens, but what it is about the scripts that I really love, Tony Jordan's [writer] done a beautiful job on the two or three scripts I've seen.
"It's exactly what you hope for in terms of if you're a fan of Death in Paradise. Obviously, it's not in the Caribbean, but it's in its own paradise. It's got its own new twist on it.
